The Role
As a Sr. System Administrator, you'll be crucial in providing support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems. You'll manage IT system infrastructure, handle day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for various devices including client/server, storage, network, and mobile devices. This role involves providing Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, assisting users, and coordinating with agency management. You'll also configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, install software, troubleshoot, maintain network component integrity, and implement enhancements to improve system reliability and performance. Additionally, you'll optimize system operations, perform capacity analysis, and provide detailed feedback on escalated issues. This position is 100% onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD.
What You'll Bring
- BS and ten (10) years of experience as a System Administrator; Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Proven ability to provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
- Experience managing the daily activities of IT system configuration and operation.
- Proficiency in providing Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
- Skilled in supporting IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
- Adept at configuring and managing UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems, including installing/loading software, troubleshooting, maintaining integrity, and configuring network components.
- Ability to implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
- Experience optimizing system operations, resource utilization, and performing system capacity analysis and planning.
- Strong background in troubleshooting IT systems and providing detailed analysis and feedback for escalated tickets.
- Capable of assisting users in accessing and using IT systems.
- Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems, remaining involved in the resolution process.
Clearance Requirements
Active TS/SCI with a polygraph is strictly required. You must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
