The Role
As a Network Engineer 3, you will be responsible for network services from design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks. You'll analyze designs and specifications, perform general LAN/CAN/WAN administration, and coordinate conversions and incident resolution. This role involves translating business requirements into telecommunications designs (LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice, Video) and performing engineering analysis for modernization efforts. You will optimize end-to-end system performance and data flow, conduct data capture, minimize latency, and maximize throughput. Key duties also include providing input to network and mission architecture design, integrating/configuring/deploying network devices, implementing specific network solutions (e.g., load-balancing, VPNs, firewalls, VoIP, IPSec, NAT), and maintaining network diagrams and accreditations. You will oversee network equipment support, develop network designs for new partner requirements, manage assigned tasks, guide junior engineers, and resolve complex network problems. This position is 100% onsite.
What You'll Bring
- BS + 12 (MS + 10 ) years of relevant professional Network Engineering experience (16 years of relevant Network Engineering experience can substitute a degree).
- Comprehensive experience in network design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance across LAN/CAN/WAN environments.
- Proficiency with advanced networking protocols and solutions including load-balancing, VPNs, firewalls, VoIP, IPSec, GRE Tunneling, MoIP, and NAT.
- Skilled in network performance analysis, troubleshooting complex issues, and utilizing tools like analyzers and simulators.
- Ability to develop and maintain network architectures, ensuring compliance with standards (ISO 9000, DoD/IC), and managing diagrams/accreditations.
- Experience leading projects, guiding junior engineers, and integrating hardware/software components.
- Familiarity with networking and telecommunications modeling and algorithm development.
Required Certifications:
IAT Level III baseline certification (DoD 8570) and Cisco certifications are required.
Clearance Requirements
Active TS/SCI with a polygraph is strictly required. You must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
