The Role
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our client's dynamic team and play a key role in implementing infrastructure, automating deployment processes, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our services. You will support the development and deployment of both cloud infrastructure in AWS and non-cloud (Edge) infrastructure. Collaboration with development teams and continuous improvement of processes and tools are essential aspects of this role. This position offers a hybrid work environment in Columbia, MD, with opportunities for CONUS travel to customer sites in Hawaii. Compensation for highly qualified candidates can reach 215k.
What You'll Bring
* 9+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development (Java preferred) with a BS in a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Strong knowledge of Linux systems administration and troubleshooting.
* Proficient in configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
* Knowledge of AWS services (EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) for infrastructure deployment and management.
* Experience with application and OS deployment, scaling, and management.
* Ability to develop in multiple programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
* Familiarity with Git and other development tools.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites.
* Ability to work in a hybrid environment, averaging 1-2 days per week in Columbia, MD.
* Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time to customer sites located in Hawaii.
Preferred Requirements
* Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, Presto, etc.
* Experience with containers (EKS, Diode), CI/CD, and Terraform.
* Willingness to perform some on-call work.
Clearance Requirements
U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI is required. Please note, you MUST have the required clearance for consideration (uncleared or under-cleared applicants will not receive a response).
Location
Hybrid schedule in Columbia, MD (1-2 days per week on-site) with travel to customer sites in Hawaii (up to 25%).
