Our client's 20-person sole-sourced program, which began in 2015 and runs through late 2021, with extensions highly expected, pushes the boundaries of DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Automated Software Testing. It involves the development, evaluation and improvement of Penetration Testing Tools that are used throughout the Intelligence Community and DoD. Openings on the program are typically for Engineers who have experience in Automation (DevOps, Continuous Integration, Test Automation, etc.) who can help build, upgrade, deploy, and utilize large extensive Automated Testing Frameworks. You'll find Python, C, Ruby, Java, and other languages, extensive VMware usage (several hundred ESX servers, and growing), networking equipment, custom hardware, and a variety of platforms (Windows, Linux/Unix, Android, iOS, etc.). This is an opportunity to build custom Pen Testing tools and Test Harnesses and tackle testing as an ENGINEERING problem, at very large (datacenter-sized) scale. If you work on this program, you will have the opportunity to learn large-scale virtualization and virtualization management, how to truly do automated testing, develop enterprise-scale test harnesses, and learn the ins and outs of Penetration Testing tools, while at the same time growing your overall DevOps, Continuous Integration, and overall process automation expertise. The team is very forward-thinking as well, and the customer is very open to bringing in new technologies and tools - there is an opportunity to work at the cutting-edge and help shape the program. As this project team supports a variety of IC/DoD teams, you will also have the opportunity to better understand missions and systems across a variety of customers and have a positive impact on a multitude of missions. The work on this program is conducted primarily in customer SCIFs in the Reston and Herndon, VA area. This program requires US citizenship plus a current Top Secret (TS) clearance to begin work: all people joining this program must go through clearance upgrades while working on the program, including polygraphs.
The type of automation experience you have isn't necessarily important. They have complete control over whom they hire (no labor category checkboxes to worry about meeting, no customer interview required), and they want to hire strong engineers who like automation, know how to do it, and can learn. Specifically, they are seeking people who meet the following requirements:
- US citizenship and TS or higher clearance (and a willingness to get cleared up to TS/SCI + Poly over time)
- Several years of experience programming and/or scripting in Python, Perl, C, Ruby, or other languages
- DevOps, Test Automation, Continuous Integration, or other automation experience
If you have the following additional experience, that is a plus, but not required:
- Penetration Testing
